MASON CREEK KENNEL

Janet Nahorn has more than 50 years experience in owning, training, hunting and trialing many breeds. However, she is truly dedicated to her passion, which is hunting.

Janet considers the Pointer to be the "Cadillac" of bird dogs because "it will take you to more birds than any other hunting breed simply because of its range, its desire to hunt, its excellent nose and the amount of ground it covers." However, their range is extreme for the average hunter and it is difficult, if not impossible, to keep up with a Pointer in the field.

Having been involved with Pointers, Janet felt she could not settle for less when making the decision to change breeds. She decided to concentrate on the AKC German Wirehaired Pointer because of its versatility and its reputation for having an exceptional nose, and less extreme range when bred for hunting.

Through a delicate balancing of bloodlines at Mason Creek, we have achieved what we believe to be outstanding AKC German Wirehaired Pointers that differ from Pointers only in range. And, while the Pointer continues to be a premier bird dog, the same is true of the Mason Creek German Wirehaired Pointers.

Mason Creek is owned and operated by Janet and her partner, Barbara Grygiel. You are welcome to come visit us any time!
